If you're a parent with a child who wants to study music, Effman Music should be your first stop. They have their own excellent line of affordable student instruments, but even more important, they offer customer service that's caring and personal in a way that I just don't see anymore. We inherited one of their older model L.J. Hutchen brand clarinets, and my son had some trouble adjusting to it. I called the shop, and Jesse talked me through the issue, asked me to send some pictures, then got back to me and suggested I send it in for an adjustment. The warranty expired years ago, but they only charged me for shipping and gave the horn a complete going over, including some modifications to make it easier for his particular hands. They really want students to be satisfied and successful playing music, and they stand behind everything they sell. Fantastic people!
