An alto sax that personifies vintage.
With an expanded bore and bell the P. Mauriat System 76 Alto Saxophone produces a bigger sound with a core that is full of rich overtones. This beautifully engraved instrument features a Super VI style neck, abalone key touches, and is available in vintage dark lacquer and also in classic gold lacquer. The vintage dark lacquer has warmer subtleties compared to the slightly more brilliant gold lacquer. Both, however, allow the player to deliver the highest performance possible due to the System 76's superior craftsmanship.
-Range: high F#
-Neck: Super VI
-Large bore and large bell
-Finish: vintage dark or gold lacquer
-Hand engraved bell and bow
-Key touches: genuine abalone
System-76 Series Alto Saxophones are available in 3 unique finishes: vintage dark lacquer (DK), classic gold lacquer (GL), & raw brass (UL). Each finish lends a different color to the sound.
SYSTEM-76ADK - The vintage dark lacquer finish produces a warm round sound players will fall in love with.
SYSTEM-76AGL - A gold lacquer finish has a slightly more brilliant tone than the vintage dark lacquer and offers players the classic look, feel, and response that one should expect of a professional saxophone.
SYSTEM-76AUL -Unfinished raw brass allows this sax to resonate freely. In addition, the absence of lacquer allows the brass to age over time, creating a unique vintage look and feel.

Excellent Professional Sax

I have now owned the System 76 for over a year now. I moved to this horn after playing my Selmer SA80 for 3 decades. The Selmer is an excellent horn, but in my opinion the System 76 has a better sound. The action is superb, the tone is centered and focused. You can easily play low and high notes, it is a very free blowing horn. If you are hesitant in purchasing this horn, I highly recommend you give it a try. I use a variety of mouthpieces depending on what type of music. For concert band I use a Vandoren Optimum and jazz a Jody Jazz HR.
