The Yamaha YOB-241 oboe features a simplified Conservatoire system, making it is easier to play for beginners. The surprisingly precise intonation permits students to concentrate more on developing their own musical nuances. But there is nothing 'student-like' about the rich and colorful sound. There are two major changes made in the YOB-241. The first of these changes are newly designed bore and the second, the new undercut tone hole design. The new highly polished bore design incorporates a vertical integration system similar to that of Yamaha's professional oboes. THis new bore design results in improved projection and improved tonal qualities. The new taper to the tone hole design provides the player with a smooth response and even intonation.
